Today was an easy day, family for dinner and a friend brought us some old field fencing. I will use that fencing to further divide our pasture for even better rotational grazing. The same friend brought us an Australian type saddle. The friend told us that type of saddle would be of great use when we get to the first rides on our mule. Anybody that would like to have the first ride on Tecumseh, just get a message to me and we will set a date.
Skye also got to help out with changing the oil in our vehicles, a skill that will save her and you money if you do it. That is assuming fossil fuel vehicles are still in use when she starts to drive on the road.
I think it is very important to teach our young people skills that will benefit them in their everyday lives.
So the reason there are four or more posts on the same day is our modem went bad. I think they are designed to fail after a while. The phone company has a new deal to prevent me from having to purchase a fourth one since we have lived here, instead of buying one for $75, I get to rent one for $6.99 per month. Doing the math they have changed it so instead of paying $75 once every 2-3 years, I get to pay $83.88 every year.
When I get back to farming tomorrow, I won’t be having posts that sound less like a rant. Ce la Vie.
