We grew the carrots, the mashed Daikons and Turnips, the cabbage, brocollards (cross between broccoli and collards, we think) and mayo for the coleslaw and the venison we harvested.
There is nothing better than the feeling of growing your own food and eating it within minutes of harvesting. Even the best of food that is store bought is not as nutritious. The sugars and other nutrients start to change and degrade by the hour after harvesting. Many things are days old in the store and many more are weeks and months old, I am referring to ‘fresh’ items.
There are very few situations in which a person can grow none of their food. The bottom line is do the best you can and enjoy every tasty morsel.
